Writer's Block: Instant replay

Wow, this is actually harder to answer than I first thought. I definitely have it narrowed down to ZE:A (hello! Junyoung is there after all ;D) but... All of their songs are amazing- it's hard to just choose one... But if I had to, at this moment, I would chose Heart for 2. Though the song definitely has sad undertones (and that's putting it lightly), I can relate to it. Anyone who has ever been cheated on and thrown into a love triangle can relate to this song. Though I wish Heechul didn't have to go through the pain to be able to write such lyrics, I am happy that he was able to put his feelings into words and share it with the rest of the world.

And as superficial as this sounds, I also like the live perfs and the semi-mv for the song. The way those men can move is astounding.

My ZE:A Bias- Moon Junyoung
Moon Junyoung
While I have been following ZE:A for awhile, ever since my friend introduced to me them, I officially truly got into them over the summer while on a road trip. I have never had a true bias before but now... I DO! This is my ZE:A bias as well as my first bias of all time

tree, nature

When you come to me in the dark,
I will never let you go.
In my arms you will be safe,
I will protect you from the memories.
Close your eyes and kiss my lips,
Sate yourself upon my love.
Pretend the world doesn't exist,
It can't hurt us here,
Not in the dark.
Please don't speak,
Words will destroy it all,
For this peace is fragile.
The edges crack,
With the tremble of your lips,
Whispering words I longed to hear.
I love yous never shared before,
Are whispered as the darkness shatters,
The harsh light of reality shining down.
From my arms you are pulled,
Your name frozen upon my lips.
Opening my eyes,
I realize I am alone.

Alas, it was but a dream,
And a dream it shall remain.

Writer's Block: You've got the look

How important is physical attraction in selecting a romantic partner?

I believe that the answer to this question will vary depending upon the person answering it.
For myself, I don't find physical attraction ALL that important. I mean, sure, it would be nice if my future life partner was good looking. However, I would rather go for intelligence rather than anything else. Sex is something that fades away as the years go on, but intelligent and interesting conversations can be be held until the day one dies (or looses their memory).
All in all, intelligence is more important to me than physical attraction, however,  I wouldn't say no to by partner being appealing to the eyes.

Bleach- A World of Anger

I don't even know how to start this rant out elegantly so I'm not even going to endeavor to do so, I'll just state it plainly:

Sometimes enough is enough. This manga is starting to remind me of Dragon Ball Z in the fact that Tite Kubo just don't know when to quit. No matter how strong the opponent is, Ichigo always manages to one up them. Even if he is at the height of power, he still manages to go one step farther. AND HIS HAIR EVEN GROWS AS HE BECOMES MORE POWERFUL! How much more like DBZ can you get?

The endings to the chapters also make me extremely angry. I know you are supposed to have a suspenseful ending to leave your reader wanting more, but Kubo is just ridiculous. There is never a concise ending, you're always left with about a hundred questions you want answered in the next chapter. However, it never happens. He drags everything out for 5-10 chapters before you have any of your questions answered. And if your lucky, it'll be more than one. And more often than not, you're only left with half answers than can change in a moments notice.

And finally... BLEACH SHOULD HAVE ENDED ABOUT 10-15 CHAPTER AGO! Kubo just keeps dragging it on. So Ichigo lost his Shinigami powers (more than once I might add) and he always managed to pull a rabbit out of his hat and gain them again (kind of like Goku and how he keeps coming back from the dead even though Shenron couldn't revive him anymore). But this new arc is just ridiculous. Kubo should have just ended it with the defeat of Aizen and the loss of Ichigo's powers. After that chapter, there should have been 1, maybe 2, chapter afterwords having Ichigo ponder about his adventures while he was a Shinigami and have him heading into the front of a university or something. But Kubo had to make another way for Ichigo to gain power and fight to "protect those important to him."

All in all, Bleach has just become too much. The power levels are beyond imagination and just don't make sense at all. The endings never truly give you anything. An event is lengthened to 4-5 chapters. You never have any questions answered directly, you have to pretty much deal with half-answers or just make inferences. And by this point, chapter 436, everything is becoming pretty predictable (new enemy, beaten, gain power, defeat enemy, repeat).

Thus, I am done with my rant about Bleach. If I'm not the only one seeing this, please let me know I'm not crazy.

What food would you never put in your mouth for any reason, and why?

I would never, under any circumstances put any kind of seafood in my mouth. There are two reasons for the decision. Firstly, I am severely allergic to seafood. A few new years ago I ended up in the emergency room because my father convinced me to at least try it before deciding I didn't like it; he still feels guilty to this day. The second reason would be that I feel I have a moral obligation to NOT eat it. Now I don't sit up on a high-horse basing my actions upon moral values pushed upon me by others; in fact I would say I have close to no moral values aside from this. However, you don't stick a live cow in an oven to eat it so I don't believe in cooking lobsters and crabs alive. To me that is just cruel and inhumane. They also put a wooden stick up the lobster's rear end and up through its body so as to make sure that the tail doesn't curl. So in conclusion, I will never eat seafood (again) because of my allergy to it as well as my loose moral obligation.

Writer's Block: The name game

What's the origin of your username? If you could change it to anything else, would you, and what would it be?

I believe the origin of my username is pretty much self-explanatory. I like to write and I mostly write poetry, thus the poet part of my username. Most of my poetry stems from stress, sadness, pain, and anger; things I can afflicted with. As for the number 13, it's my favorite number; even though it's said to be unlucky. Thus, you have the origins of my username, not very dramatic but it holds meaning and value to me and that it all that really counts right?

If I could change my name I don't believe I would. As I said, afflictedpoet13 has a deep meaning to me that I can't fully explain to others. It has become a part of me, a part of my essence. If I changed it to anything else, it wouldn't hold as much value to me anymore. So no, I wouldn't change my name if given the choice.

Now, on the other hand, if I just had to think of another name that I could use, I believe it would probably be something along the lines of distortedbohemian03. The definition of distorted that I would use is that of twisted. Bohemian is a a person, artist or author, who lives and acts free of regard for conventional rules and practices. The number 03 is short for the year 2003, which is the year that I started writing fictional pieces. Again, it's pretty self-explanatory.

As a final thought, distortedbohemain03 is also an accurate portrayal of myself but afflictedpoet13 is closer to my heart. I suppose I could use either if the fancy took me, but for now I'll stick with my old faithful.

How do you feel about standardized tests? Do you think they accurately indicate a student's knowledge or ability?

I have mixed feelings on standardized tests. It allows teachers, administrators, and the government to ascertain what areas of academics school districts need to focus on. However, I don't believe it accurately indicates a student's knowledge or ability. Some students learn at different levels. Also, some may know the information they are being tested on but lack the proper test taking skills. They may panic under pressure and forget information that they would know if asked in a different situation. In conclusion, I believe that standardized tests have the right idea but I also believe that they need some tweaking to make them more effective for every student.
